"Perspectives" is featured in Modern Drummer Magazine!!

"I’ll let Jeff describe his own recording, “This is a drum record with vibes… and extra weirdness.” On Perspectives Jeff duets and co-creates with musicians such as Butch Norton, Kalani Das, and Rich Mangicaro, and they play every percussion instrument including the kitchen sink (look at the back cover of Jeff actually playing a sink.) I would describe this record as Percussion Ensemble Music for 2024 and beyond. Simply put, this ain’t your old drum teacher’s “Ionisation,” but it’s (sort of) coming from the same place. Tripoli’s music leans upon the tribal aspects a little more that the asymmetrical rhythms of Varese. But like Varese, Jeff has seemed to find and write for many beautiful and unrecognized percussion sounds that we haven’t heard before. With more explanation from the record itself, we might be able to know what actual sounds are being played and utilized, but that might negate the point of using sound as an instrument and organizing it into creative orders known simply as music. I love how Jeff mixes electronics, samples, and acoustic instruments and uses our own perspectives to frame his music. Wonderful!" - Mark Griffith (Modern Drummer)
